When we are the most invested in the future but have the least amount of time in the present.

Gone too long

When I began this blog in 2012, it was to show how important being politically literate and aware was for people between the ages thirty and sixty because we’ve been around long enough to have families and experiences and are still vital and energetic enough to get things done and have our voices heard. The conflict in this is that this is also the time in our lives when we are the most busy, the most distracted by commitments. and the least likely to risk our security and anonymity.

As such, I got busy and complacent and abandoned this idea.

Then Tuesday happened. Trump happened. PRESIDENT TRUMP HAPPENED.

Since then my mind has been non-stop about the election. Assigning blame (Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the DNC, the “Alt-Right”, etc.)  Looking into the future (All Republican, all the time. <shudder>).

So I needed to dust this blog off and start again. An exercise in self-talk therapy. Purely selfish and an expression of ego. Seems to be the way of the world now.
